Internet Survey of Participant Demographics and Risk Factors for Injury in Flyball Dogs
The objectives of this study were 1. to provide descriptive data and statistics on canine participants and injuries incurred in flyball dogs and 2. to identify risk factors associated with patient-specific variables, equipment use, training practices, and competition factors associated with injury.
Pharmacokinetics, Safety, and Clinical Efficacy of Cannabidiol Treatment in Osteoarthritic Dogs
The objectives of this study were to determine: 1. single-dose oral pharmacokinetics, 2. short-term safety, and 3. efficacy of this novel CBD-rich extract, as compared to placebo, in alleviating pain in dogs with OA. Our underlying hypotheses were that appropriate dosing of CBD-rich oil would safely diminish perceived pain and increase activity in dogs with OA.
When a virus pulls the rug out from under graduation
Every veterinarian has their own origin story, whether their first word as a baby was “hyperadrenocorticism” or they made a last-minute, self-loathing decision to go through four more years of schooling following undergrad. One constant is that we are not unfamiliar with sacrifice. We chose an underpaid, underappreciated, often misunderstood, amazing, rewarding, pure profession because, above all else, we love to help those who cannot help themselves.
